- Ms. Cecilia Koo Yan led hundreds of farmers to promote the local economy and education through land reclamation and school construction
2005
- Dr. Chia-Wei Li, a Taiwanese biologist and former director of the National Museum of Natural Science, planned construction of a tropical plant conservation center in Taiwan
2007
- Ms. Cecilia Koo Yan offered the five-hectare Taiho farm for the grounds of the tropical plant conservation center. The Dr. Cecilia Koo Botanic Conservation Center was founded by Taiwan Cement Corporation Group (TCC Group), to support and launch the proposal of global tropical plant conservation
2008
- The Dr. Cecilia Koo Botanic Conservation Center was launched, with the prospect that people from all walks of life will cooperate to maintain the diversity of biological species and increase the enthusiasm to protect tropical plant species
2009
- The collection size reaches 10,000 taxa
- KBCC hosted the third Directors’ Meeting of Southeast Asia Botanic Gardens (SEABG) Network, with attendees from 14 countries taking part in activities

- KBCC collaborated with the National Tsing Hua University, the National Museum of Natural Science and the National Chung Hsing University, planning the "Future Earth Ecology Program"
- In August, the collection accessions exceeded 30,000 taxa
- KBCC hosted the Southeast Asia Botanic Garden (SEABG) Network for a ‘Consultation workshop on cost-effective and sustainable ex situ conservation techniques for woody, exceptional species native to the Southeast Asia Region’
- KBCC and Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden, Laos signed a memorandum of cooperation
- An agreement with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) of the Philippines was started on the preservation of the genus Azolla
2017
- The "100 Species Conservation" and cryopreservation programs begin
- A Memorandum of Understanding on the conservation of ferns was signed with The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan
- The Taiwan Cement Company and KBCC were awarded a ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ Award in the environmental category by Vision Magazine
- KBCC collaborated with the National Tsing Hua University, the National Museum of Natural Science and the National Chung Hsing University, planning the "Future Earth Ecology Program II"
- Discussions begin with the World Orchid Association for the 2020 World Orchid Conference to be hosted in Taiwan

- The ‘Botanical inventory, research and conservation of the flora of Lang Biang Plateau, Vietnam’ project is launched with an MOU signing between partners
- The ‘Pteridophyte Reproductive Biology: Multidisciplinary Approaches’ workshop was hosted at KBCC in association with the 7th Asian Symposium of Ferns and Lycophytes
- KBCC joined the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, contributing 1000 species to a major display on local and international plant conservation
- The ‘Taiwan Plant Conservation Symposium’ was co-organized by KBCC and BGCI and hosted at National Tsing Hua University
- KBCC joined the Education Bureau of the Taichung City Government to present to students and teachers on threatened Taichung species, Clematis sinensis var. tatushanensis and promote environmental protection and plant conservation in the county
